One of these days I really need to get around to writing an actual essay about the strong narrative and thematic parallels between Dedue and Edelgard. Today is not that day. But one of these days I will write the essay.

(It's about two people who lose their entire families and their entire worlds and react by covering themselves in literal armor and picking up a physical shield the size of their own bodies to defend their hearts from further pain. It's about picking up an axe and deciding to change the world with your own hands. It's about how only one other person in the world at the beginning of the story knows their true selves and loves them as an individual first. It's about how totally human and ordinary Dedue would be the perfect example of the deserving in Edelgard's ideal crestless meritocracy if Dedue didn't fundamentally reject Edelgard's worldview, and if Edelgard didn't completely overlook him. It's about how in the only route where Edelgard doesn't turn herself into a monster as a futile last ditch desperation effort to save her dream of a better future, Dedue does to try to save his.

It's about wanting a savior to reach out their hand to them in the worst moments of their lives, and how Dedue gets that and Edelgard doesn't and that emotionally and thematically makes every single bit of difference.)

forever amazed and confused at how often transformers franchise just straight up depicts suicide attempts. like not even considering the superhero trope of "i have to save everyone!!! by choosing to die!!!!!" thing. like. non-allow-yourself-to-die-to-stop-a-thing-from-killing-everyone-immediately type situations. which tbh i wish more ppl talked about but not the point here

like. sure mtmte, a comic abt mentall illness and war, i expected it to be aware of the concept. but its not handled well and mostly used for shock value or "im better now i swear! i have a husband and everything" BUT ITS IN THE KIDS SHOWS TOO??? MY BESTIE G1 RODIMUS?? BEAST WARS DINOBOT???

I been thinking, after the maze, when Felix was confronted with more emotions that he could handle in a day, and Oliver tries to murder him in an act of despair, he discover a true nature that was sleeping inside him, in the worst way possible.

Felix with his mouth covered in blood, he just look at his victim horrified, the dead body torn open, as if some wild animal had attacked them, with the luscious entrails spilled everywhere, he didn't want to, he was just so hungry, he couldn't stop, is not his fault, if they weren't be there, it wasn't hus fault, it wasn't his fault, he is not a monster.

And Oliver, he stares at Felix and at the body with some sort of fascination in his eyes, even covered in blood, even after being the most savage beast Oliver's human eyes could ever see, Felix manage to found a way to look absolutely beautiful.

Oliver goes to Felix, ignoring the body at his feet, he falls on his knees and takes Felix's face into his little hands, tears falling from those beautiful brown eyes.

"I'msorryi'msorryi'msorry" he repeats, thinking that if he repeated it enough, maybe he could undo what he did, Oliver smiled fondly and joined his lips with Felix's in a tender kiss.

His god shouldn't be apologizing for his own bestially, at Oliver's eyes, Felix could do everything he wants and more.

"I love you" Oliver says between kisses "I love you so much"

My actual favorite fairytales are ones having to do with curses, getting turned into a beast, or accidentally/willingly/any-reason-ly marrying a beast or demon or monster. Prince Lindworm is one of my most favorite-est favorites. I had a pet corn snake at one point who I called Prince Lindworm (his real name was Slinky though). Other faves off the top of my head are East of The Sun, West of The Moon, The Demon in The Tree, and Featherflight.

#I also like deal with the devil/the devil and X stories a lot!#and any tale involving any type of curse or hex or geass #and I know it's silly but I do sort-of covet lesser-known fairytales and details from specific tellings.#also jsyk I don't care What the tale actually says in my mindpalace Featherflight is a giant just like her dad.#this same interest causes me to like Urusei Yatsura btw. it's so the same.#OH the tags are all a mess now but I ALSO WANTED TO SAY I recently found out that in different tellings of The Demon in The Tree people wil #change the type of food/offering given to the demon! which is obvious in retrospect but I didn't realize! I had only heard the version wher #you give the demon jam! and so that is my favorite version and the way I tell it too LOL. I love the idea of everyone intrinsically knowing #that demons just love jam #but anyway there are other variants where they give the demon different offerings as well! I can easily imagine asking the kids in the room #what it is that demon's love the most. and then whatever the kids pick is what the couple will offer the demon in that particular telling.#also yes duh yeah I like beauty and the beast! it's not really my favoritest. I like Prince Lindworm or Snow White Rose Red way more.#but there r some variants of beauty and the best that I like more than others. I am picky about it. which ultimately means I like it.

well, i didn't cry today (and more importantly didn't cry at work in front of everybody) so I'm taking that as a sign that things are getting better...I hope 😅

#suuuuuuuuuuper awkward moment when i just started crying yesterday as one of my employees came up to me #(not one of the ones who went to HR)#and she was like 'uhm are you okay' and then i just told her to ask me what she needed to ask me lmao #god i'm just so embarassed that i cried so much this week #esp cause like. i hope it's not some sort of idk defense mechanism?#like did i just start busting out crying cause oh no my boss found out i'm not doing my job so i'm just gonna cry so she doesn't yell at me #or something like that and then keep crying to garner pity #cause that's certainly not my intention at all #i know i fucked up. badly. i'm not donig the job i SHOULD be doing #and was focusing on things i shouldn't focus on...especially like having my techs do their actual jobs #but that's my fault for not laying down the law #for not training them right in the first place for not giving them the proper expectations of what their job entails #but then they're crying that they're overwhelmed which hurts to hear when i see them disappearing just to come back with a cup of coffee #or talking to people across the building when there's no reason for them to be up there #or sitting on their phones while things pile up to be done #and then like my boss is now jumping in and is going to meet with them next week #and inserting herself and two of my other co-workers into the picture to help #which like yeah i need help. a lot of help. but they all have their own jobs #hell there's things my boss does really i should probably be doing #so knowing all of that and again just feeling like a failure at my job makes me feel even worse #like i'm not carrying my weight for the team--i've honestly never felt i have since i became supervisor #i don't think i'm meeting the expectations as a supervisor #as a tech? yeah i was a BEAST and maybe should have never applied for the supervisor job #and i even already told my boss long term career? def not in management for me lol and if i can get out of the supervisor job i will #but i would still want to stay with my boss and co-workers cause we're all trauam bondeded at this point from this workplace #but hey if the worst thing that comes out of this crisis is me getting fired for not doing my job maybe it'll be for the best #..........that's not making me feel any better though

#beauty and the beast 80s #{this video shows some important parts of the ep and the description the poster wrote is useful for those who haven't seen it at all}#{this episode was one of the rougher ones for me for sure}#{because there are no two ways about it... vincent definitely assaulted lisa}#{and it was so out of character for him but it also fit so well with these instincts he sometimes can't control}#{this was one of those times where you couldn't quite feel as sorry for him as you wanted to because... nah dude what you did was wrong}#{but at the same time it was such a deviance from his normal behavior}#{and lisa's behavior was odd as well}#{she seemed to like vincent's attention and to keep him interested but didn't have the same feelings for him and kept him at arm's length}#{which was kindof cruel to keep stringing him along}#{then she came back years later as if nothing had happened and everything was the same between them while he's actively keeping distance}#{i honestly found that as uncomfortable as what he did to her}#{lisa was a weird chick for me i dunno heh}#{but regardless... the way vincent internalized this incident and let it define him as a person for so many years was heartbreaking}#{the way he steps back away from lisa in that one scene starting at 2:24... ugh my heart... he's trying so hard not to repeat his past}#{i love that healing moment when he's finally telling catherine about this shame he's held for years}#{and she responds with no fear and no judgement... just encouragement and love... kissing his hands that he feels can give only pain}#{and she says ��these are *my* hands�� as she holds his in hers... MY HEART}#{an emotional rollercoaster this ep was heh}

ok you’ve convinced me to watch bsd so where can I watch it? and do I need to read the comics? if so, in what order and where can I read them?

EEK OMG YAY! okay so one thing about me im a little student girlie #ihaventboughtmilkinaweek so i will always consume media the free way lmao. the site i read the bsd manga on is 'bsdmanga.com' which seems very legit but does also do pop ups a lot for me so just make sure you've got an adblock going. if you want to properly buy them though ive seen bsd being sold in almost every waterstones! as for the anime, the sub and dub were both free on crunchyroll AND funimation back when i first started watching it, but not anymore bc everything is awful. the main less-legit site i use for anime is 'animesuge' and that has it there :)

#animesuge has literally never let me down i swear by it but like i said im p sure it's not as official #so again just be sure you've got an adblock!#okay okay back to bsd SO there's 4 seasons (the 4th currently airing!) as well as a spin-off called bsd wan that's more silly/lighthearted #and also two films in the form of dead apple (my favourite anime film of all time) and the beast live action #that i havent watched yet bc my go-to piraters are LETTING ME DOWN #as for the manga it's a tad confusing at first glance so i'll give u a quick rundown bc i promise it's not as intimidating as it seems #like it's a GOOD things that bsd has sooooooo much content like even i havent consumed it all yet im not strong enough #so there's the main manga that's now on chapter 105.5 (a VERY good chapter)#but i started reading where the anime ended (a good halfway through) and havent felt any problem with that #so if u dont want to tackle the entire thing you could do that!#there's also a bunch of light novels that act as prequels and/or is just asagiri writing fanfiction for his own story lmao #like what was beast if not fanfiction come ON #so yeah those are very good also #there's a lot online about what order to watch/read it all in if that bothers you #but honestly you should be fine sticking to the main content (the anime and main manga) and if you like it you can branch out #i watched all the animated content first before i even touched the manga/novels and that worked well for me #i will say i personally found the anime really slow for a while so my rule with reccing bsd is to tell people to at least wait for chuuya #lmfao like once it gets going it GETS GOING and also he is the most character of any media EVER #so just give it a chance!#okay ill stop talking now <3 #bsd #ask
